What is the Through Beam Photoelectric Sensor?

The through-beam photoelectric sensor have a transmitter and receiver, its working principle is: the light emitted by the transmitter directly into the receiver, when the object is detected after the transmitter and receiver blocked between the light, the photoelectric switch will produce a switch signal.

Unlike a reflective photoelectric sensor, the former is done through an electric-light-electric conversion, while the latter is done through a medium.

The characteristics of the photoelectric switch are: can identify opaque reflective objects, large effective distance, not easily disturbed, high sensitivity, high resolution, high brightness, low power consumption, fast response time, long service life, lead-free, widely used in coin-operated machines, small appliances, coin-operated machines, automatic sensors, fax machines, scanners, and other equipment.

THE FEATURES OF PHOTOELECTRIC SENSOR

1. Long detection distance

Compared to the proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors have a very long detection distance and are contactless, so they do not damage the detected object and are not affected by the detected object.

Almost not constrained by the detection object because of the reflection and light transmission on the surface of the detection object, unlike the proximity sensor can only detect metals, but also glass, plastic, wooden objects, liquids and other substances.

2. Fast response time

As with proximity sensor, there is no mechanical motion, so objects moving at high speeds can be detected. The lens is susceptible to organic dust, etc.

After the lens is protected from contamination, the light will be scattered or shaded, so appropriate protective devices need to be applied when the lens is used in an environment where there is a lot of living water vapor, dust, etc.

The effects of ambient glare are virtually unaffected by general illumination light, but glare like sunlight can cause malfunction or damage when it is directed at the photoreceptor.
